 DATES-GULKAND MODAK IS VERY EASY TO MAKE & IT IS QUICK-WITTED MODAK

# Modak is one of the religious dishes of India.

 Modak is the favorite dish of Ganpati ji.  Modaks are made in many different ways. Today we will make Date-Gulkand Modak.  It is very easy to make and it is a quick ready-to-make modak.  Which is prepared by grinding the dates, mixing gulkand, dry fruits and dried coconut snips and roasting them, then when it cools down, modaks are made from it.  This modak is very tasty to eat.

 NECESSARY INGREDIENTS FOR KHAJUR-GULKND MODAK/ Ingredients required for making Date-Gulkand Modak

 1. Dates – 1 cup (100 grams)

 2. Gulkand – 1 tbsp

 3. Ghee – 1 tsp

 4. Dried Coconut Snatch – 1 tbsp

 5. Cashew – 8-10

 6. Almonds – 8-10

 7. Walnuts – 1 tbsp

 8. Poppy seeds – 1 tsp

 9. Raisins – 8-10

 10. Cardamom Powder – 1/2 tsp

 INSTRUCTIONS FOR KHAJUR-GULKAND MODAK / Method to make Date-Gulkand Modak :-

 1) First of all, cut the dates with the help of a knife and take out its seeds and grind them in a mixer jar.  Chop cashews and almonds also.

 2) Put ghee in a pan and keep it on the gas for heating, when the ghee is hot, add cardamom powder and ground dates, fry it on low flame while stirring continuously till the dates become soft.  (This step will take about 2 to 3 minutes)

 3) Now add gulkand, coconut, raisins, cashew nuts, almonds, poppy seeds and walnuts and mix it well.  And immediately switch off the gas.

 4) After getting all the ingredients, it will become a thick mixture.  Now let this mixture cool down at room temperature for 10 to 15 minutes.

 5) After the mixture cools down slightly, mix it with your hand and prepare it like a dough.

 6) Now take a little mixture out of all this mixture and make it like round laddus.

 7) Now take modak shape mold and grease it with ghee, then put a laddu in the mold and give the shape of modak.  Similarly prepare Modak from all the laddus.

 8) Keep the prepared modak in the fridge for 1 hour.

# Date-Gulkand Modak is ready to be offered to Ganpati.  You must also try this modak.

HOW TO MAKE KHAJUR – GULKAND MODAK / HOW TO MAKE MODAK WITH ROSE PETAL JAM & DATES – STEP BY STEP WITH PICTURES

ROAST THE DATES ON A LAW FLAME FOR 2 MINUTES

 

 3) Now add gulkand, coconut, raisins, cashew nuts, almonds, poppy seeds and walnuts and mix it well.  And immediately switch off the gas.

NOW ADD GULKAND, COCONUT SNATCH & DRY FRUITS & MIX WELL

 

 4) After getting all the ingredients, it will become a thick mixture.  Now let this mixture cool down at room temperature for 10 to 15 minutes.

ALLOW THE MIXTURE TO COOL FOR 10 TO 15 MINUTES AT ROOM TEMPERATURE

 

5) After the mixture cools down slightly, mix it with your hand and prepare it like a dough.

PREPARE IT LIKE DOUGH

 

 6) Now take a little mixture out of all this mixture and make it like round laddus.

MAKE THE ROUND BALLS LIKE LADOO

 

 7) Now take modak shape mold and grease it with ghee, then put a laddu in the mold and give the shape of modak.  Similarly prepare Modak from all the laddus.

 8) Keep the prepared modak in the fridge for 1 hour.

FINALLY, KHAJUR-GULKAND MODAK ARE READY.

 

 Date-Gulkand Modak is ready to be offered to Ganpati.  You must also try this modak.

 Suggestion :-

 โ˜… Do not add water while grinding the dates. If you need, add only 1 or 2 spoons of milk.

 โ˜… While making the mixture, keep the flame of the gas low or else the mixture will stick to the bottom of the pan.

 โ˜… While making the shape of the modak, definitely apply ghee in the modak mold so that the modak does not stick to the mould.
